WFMW — Slow Cooker Liners

A few weeks ago my mom sent me a slow cooker liner in the mail and said I needed to try it.

It felt like one of those bags you use in the oven for your turkey at Thanksgiving.

I think it's my kids' new best friend. Clean-up is such a snap!

All that brown burnish gunk that would normal have to be scrubbed off the crock pot now is on the liner that just gets thrown in the trash.

You just pull it down over the crock pot. You don't tuck it in or anything.

Simple!

That's what works for me, and my kids!

Check out what works for others at We Are THAT Family.

I have these too and they are wonderful - I just have to remember to use them!

I've never tried these before! I've seen them at the store, but I've been skeptical. Glad to know they work!

It makes me nervous to think about cooking that long in plastic. I just don't know if it's going to leach something ick into our food and cause cancer in 10 years, you know? So the idea I like, less cleaning, but I think I'd rather just soak the crock overnight in soapy water to be on the safe side.

Does the crock on your crockpot come out for cleaning?

I love these things! A couple times I've forgotten to put one in and I've totally kicked myself!

I'm with Thesavedquarter - cooking anything in plastic is never a good idea.

Did you know that ALL plastics leach a synthetic estrogen that affects males reproductive systems?

It may save me a tiny bit of time, but the possible health risks are not worth it.

I always fill my crock with water as soon as I empty it - never have to deal with that crud, it comes right off.
