Menu Plan Monday — August 10

I'm not sure I'll ever get through a week and completely follow my meal plan in its entirety. But that's okay, because that just shows I'm spontaneous. And even though I don't follow it to the letter, it doesn't mean that we eat out during the week to make up for the change.

Last week the Deluxe Chicken Breasts were a new recipe, were yummy, and the kids all liked it, even if they were a little suspicious of the sauce at first. Everyone's favorite hands down though, the Sloppy Joes.

If I could just reiterate from my post where I shared the recipe...Yum-my!

We ate leftovers and bumped up cleaning out the fridge and pantry, plus I did get Sam's Club pizza for dinner Saturday evening (which I do not consider eating out, by the way), so I have things to bring forward again.

Unfortunately, the TGI Friday's Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad is coming forward for the second week. Fortunately, I have the chicken in the refrigerator as well as the salad, and it must be used tomorrow.

I'm trying a copycat recipe for TGI Friday's Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad, my favorite. There are at least two copycat recipes on RecipeZaar (nearly identical) and one I found somewhere else, so if the first one doesn't work I guess I can keep trying. Of course I leave off the bleu cheese crumbles.

Tuesday5-Minute Southwest Layered Salad. This is another recipe I'm bringing forward and I have all the ingredients on hand. Laura, The Organizing Junkie, had this a month or so ago on her menu and it looked so good and easy I just had to try it. I may have to make an alternate little something or other for a couple of picky boys.

WednesdayFettucine Alfredo. I already have most of the ingredients on hand for this (I found them when I was doing a pantry overhaul today, which of course I'll be posting pictures of tomorrow!).

Thursday — Leftovers, or maybe breakfast for dinner depending on leftover status.

Friday — I'm going to ask Hubby to grill hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill.

Saturday — If Hubby does, which he always does because he's nice that way, we'll have enough for leftovers tonight. Sometime I'll have to ask him his trick to making his burgers so juicy.

Sunday — Eat out since we ate in all week!

I found you through OrgJunkie, and I saw your profile pic and I just have to say, there's no WAY you've been married 24 years!!! You look about 24!!!! :-) Maybe you can post tips on staying young. LOL!

Yum, yum and....yum! It all looks great! I love those Sams pizzas. Ours hasn't been carrying the chicken, bacon, ranch kind for months now. That's our favorite.
Can't wait to hear if the Friday's recipe is good!
