It's part of a series, I'm reading them in order, but it is not necessary. I thought I actually figured out this one! I had narrowed it down to two possible suspects, and then toward the end of the book with a little more information narrowed it down to just one of those two. I was wrong. And it wasn't the other one either. But this is the one time in my life when I don't mind being wrong ~ when I'm reading a mystery and pick the wrong person. Otherwise ~ always want to be right. Just say to yourself, "Oh yes, I remember, she's overboard Type A." Love this series!
Next up, The Shack. I've seen several people put up reviews for this book on their blogs. Blogs I like to read, not just blogs I've happened by. And I've battled with myself about whether to read it, because I don't like the fact that it centers around a father's struggle with his youngest child's apparent murder. I didn't really have an expectation of what this book was going to be like, but at the same time, it wasn't really what I expected. I don't know if you've ever read a book like that, but it's the best way I know to explain it. The author has an engaging way of writing and putting pictures into your mind with his words. It was not a gruesome book, but I did shed a few tears. It also affects the way you think about the character of God. I want my husband to read this, because I'd love a man's perspective. Definitely worth reading!
As a side note, I saw in the back of the book that they are trying to collect enough money to turn it into a motion picture. I'm not sure I like that. I can't imagine after reading the book how they could preserve what was written and not "ruin" it. There's something about the pictures we create in our minds when we read a book...that's the beauty of reading.
And lastly, for now, A Deadly Judgment in the Murder, She Wrote, series.
I enjoyed this one a little more than the last couple I read. Again, I read them in the order they were written, and I think I read the first five with very little in between, so having a break of several months reading some different authors might have helped too.I still have three fiction books, one non-fiction, and one devotional from my list, plus a new devotional I purchased and a new fiction book I want to read. Sparky has already read it (in something like a day and a half since she takes after me) and Chatty is in the process of reading it now. I usually read new authors or books before my kids do, but this time I didn't get the chance. I'll fill you in once I read it, and leave you in suspense until then. School books are getting ready to take a priority...

I've read quite a few of the cat books including that one. I like them. I read "The Shack" while I was on vacation last month. It wasn't what I anticipated wither. It's a book that you can't really describe but well worth reading. It takes God out of the box that we put him in so often. I should probably do a review of it too.
So glad you're enjoying The Cat Who series. And I was glad to read your review on The Shack. I know sometimes when we hear so much about a book it makes it hard for it to live up to the expectations. I agree with what Mari said: it's totally out of the box. Keeping in mind that it's fiction, it's still good to be stretched and made to look at things in a different perspective. I would like for my husband to read it, too.
Sorry to hear that apartment cooking isn't so much fun--I've been there. Hopefully it won't be much longer for you!
