Excuse me for just a moment while I become an infomercial. Pretend I'm yelling at any point you like.
I love my new Shark Steam Pocket Mop!
I've been cleaning the wood floors in my kitchen and dining area since last November on my hands and knees. I'm a little tired of it and it was always a temporary thing. I just didn't know the best option, and I was afraid of buying any of the cleaners for wood flooring since they all have warnings on them that they might damage your floor.
I've been using the Swiffer Wet Jet for the linoleum right off the garage that extends into the powder room, laundry room, and walk-in closet; the area right inside the front door; and both kids' bathrooms. I've also been using it for the ceramic tile in our bathroom. I figured that if I bought this Steam Pocket Mop that I could use it for all the flooring in my house and never have to buy the cleaner or pads again, thus saving money in the long run.
Bed, Bath & Beyond sells the Steam Pocket Mops and I had a 20 percent off of one item coupon. (By the way, did you know they honor expired coupons. It doesn't matter how old they are!) This is the Steam Pocket Mop that swivels so you can use both sides (they do make a less expensive one that doesn't swivel and doesn't flip), but the items you get with it are a little different than the infomercial on tv. It doesn't come with the extra-large mop head or pad, but it does come with two of the triangular and standard pads instead of just one of each, plus it still comes with the duster pad and carpet glider. I also got to use a coupon, so it was definitely a good deal.
I used it today on all my floors and I loved it. It was quick and easy and worked fantastic. I was especially pleased how it left my wood floors looking.
I'm not usually sold on the tv items, but this is definitely a great product and it works for me!

How is it that I haven't heard of a Shark Steam Pocket Mop? Must go Google it....
I'm sure it's great because I have the Shark Steam Mop, the older version. I've had mine for over a year and I still love it!
I'm currently doing the hands and knees bit under our dining area. I may have to check this out. Thanks for sharing it!
I'm excited to start using a Swifter on our new laminate floors!! And now you show and tell me about this gadget...hmmm...if only they made a mop/broom type thingy that had a machine washable head?!?! Or does this one? I would hate to purchase and replace the head every month!
I love Bed Bath and Beyond! I tried Swifer Sweeper on my hardwood and left a film. No film for you with this?
Demara ~ the pads are removable and you just throw them in the washing machine. They fit over the plastic heads and are nice and thick.
Paula ~ I didn't have any film on my wood floor...maybe it's because it just uses water and no chemicals.
Hey, did you know that the yelling infomercial guy died? We always had a chuckle at him screaming at us on the TV.
This thing looks wonderful...it's now added to my wish list! :)
We just moved into a house with all wood floors, even in our bedrooms. Keeping them clean with 4 kids hasn't been easy! I've wondered about the shark mops and only money has really prevented me from trying it out. I'm glad to hear a review from someone who doesn't profit from it. Someone actually just listed on of these on our local craigslist I think. Woohoo! Thanks! =)
I've had my eye on this for a while now. I've got an older steam mop that I really love how it cleans, but it's sort of a pain to use and is heavy so I'd like to "upgrade" to this one. I'm thrilled you like it and just gives me another little nudge toward getting one...with a coupon of course! LOL Did you know you can use one coupon per item too? So if you have 4 items you can use 4 coupons all in one transaction. LOVE that store.
I don't have the pocket version but I do have a Shark Steam Mop and I LOVE it!
Glad that worked for you - would love to try one out myself!
Isn't that like swiffer? I hate my swiffer. It doesn't do anything to clean my floors.
